The word "superfood" gets thrown around alot...so what actually is a superfood?
A superfood is any food that contains more phytonutrients and antioxidants compared to other food items and is therefore considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being.
This smoothie contains multiple superfoods and is sure to keep you satiated and energized for hours so you can accomplish your goals!
The combination of fiber, slow-digesting carbohydrates, and healthy fats is a winning tag team to help you take on your day all the while nourishing your body!
I had a baked sweet potato and chia seed pudding already made, making my prep time shorter. I would advise doing the same so that you can have the ingredients ready to prepare this awesome smoothie!
1 10-ounce smoothie + 1 serving of chia seed pudding
For the smoothie:
1.5 C unsweetened nut milk (I used almond)
1.2 C frozen cauliflower
1/4 of a medium avocado
1 scoop Vibrant Greens Powder from Vibrant Health (or similar greens powder)
1/4 C baked sweet potato
2 T Raw Cacao Powder (I used Himalania brand)
1 tsp cinnamon
1 dropper full of Sweet Leaf Vanilla stevia (you may also use agave, maple syrup, honey, etc.)
For the chia seed pudding:
2 T chia seeds
1/2 cup nut milk
For chia seed pudding:
It is best to make this the night before by adding 1/2 cup almond milk to a small jar and then adding the chia seeds on top to avoid getting them stuck to the bottom of the jar.
Either mix with a spoon or put the lid on the jar and shake until combined.
For the smoothie:
Add all ingredients for smoothie to a high-powered blender and blend until smooth
Add to a jar and top the smoothie with the chia seed pudding and optional toppings.
Sip, enjoy, and crush the day!
